Mom Again

She

“Told me of night tales”
Yet I oft disco parties and clubs
“Warned me from the foul Eves”
At times I laid in the house of nude

She says

“Stay away from toxin feels ”
I wallowed in booz, a chimney pope
“Come home when you lost ”
More money, home I delayed

She says

“Make your prayers without season”
I’ve even forgotten the Lords’ prayer
“Keep your Sabbath holy”
In hangover and bed I observed sermons

Now

She lays in bed, old and frail
I watch and wish her extra days
Money couldn’t make her wait
Neither buy her undying love

She says

“No man is infallible,
And if you ever be born again
I’d risk it all to mom you again”
No greater love…
